Chris is the President/Owner of Mercer Funeral Home, Inc., along with being a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Chris graduated from Holton High School in 1983, attended Kansas University, Washburn University, and received his mortuary science degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College. Chris has been in the funeral business since 1988. He is the President of the Holton Cemetery Board, has served on the Jackson County Friends of Hospice Board since 1991, a member of Evangel United Methodist Church, The Kansas Funeral Directors Association, The National Funeral Directors Association, The Holton Chamber of Commerce, The Holton Country Club, The Holton Rotary Club, and the past President of The Holton Lions Club,. He is the proud father of Kaleb, Grant, and Megan, and the proud Pa of Gatlin, Jennings, and Brecken.

Tracy is the Secretary/Owner, an Assistant Funeral Director, and the hairdresser for Mercer Funeral Home. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1988 and the American Academy of Hair Design in 1995. She has been in the funeral business since 2001. Tracy is a member of Evangel United Methodist Church, Jackson County Friends of Hospice, and The Holton Country Club. She is the proud mother of Kaleb, Grant, and Megan, and the proud grandma of Gatlin, Jennings, and Brecken.

Kaleb Smith

Kaleb Smith is the son of Chris and Tracy Mercer and brother of Grant and Megan. He graduated from Holton High in 2009. He enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, and watching the Kansas Jayhawks. After graduation, he attended Washburn University and graduated from Kansas City, Kansas Community College in 2016 with a degree in Mortuary Science. He has been working full-time for the family business since 2013. Kaleb and his wife, Morgan, live in Holton and are the proud parents of their sons, Gatlin and Jenning, and their daughter, Brecken. He is a member of Evangel United Methodist Church and the Holton Masonic Lodge.

Kaleb Smith is the son of Chris and Tracy Mercer and brother of Grant and Megan. He graduated from Holton High in 2009.
