LaClair-Killebrew
MAYETTA- Winifred "Punkins" LaClair-Killebrew, 63, of Lynwood, CA, formerly of Mayetta, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at a hospital in Paramount, CA.
She was born November 5, 1942 in Holton, Kansas, the daughter of William LaClair, Sr. and Mary E. Lasley LaClair. She had attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence and had worked as an aide in a nursing facility in California. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church west of Mayetta.
Survivors include her sister, Arlene Lingo of Mayetta, her brothers, Milton LaClair of Mayetta and Melvin LaClair of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her sister, Leoma LaClair and her brother, Billy LaClair.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening with visitation to follow at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Shipshee Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church.
