Obituary

Willis Eugene Butchee, 83, of Circleville, KS died Sunday, October 05, 2008 at a Topeka nursing home. He was born February 23, 1925 in Lamesa, Texas, the son of Rufus Marion and Mary Myrtle Brothers Butchee.
He ran a small business, farmed, and worked as a cotton ginner. He served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He had lived in Oskaloosa for eighteen years before moving to Circleville.
Willis married Opal Inez Singleton on March 28, 1944 in Yuba City, CA. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2004. He was also preceded by an infant daughter, Krystal Inez Butchee; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Karrie Parks; and great-grandsons, Michael Parks and William Elliott. Willis is survived by a son, Willis E. "Windy" Butchee of Denison, KS; daughters, Iris Jean Stevens of Clarinda, IA and Sharon Hards of Circleville, KS; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Heart of America Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
