Wilbur Maurice DeLong, 92, Eudora, formerly of Valley Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at a care facility at Eudora.
He was born Oct. 21, 1925, at La Cygne, the son of Ira and Bertha Carter DeLong. He graduated from Burlington High School.
Wilbur was a telegraph agent for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Rail Road for 32 years. He was a member of the Valley Falls Christian Church.
He married Edna Elizabeth Naylor, Nov. 7, 1945, at Emporia. She died March 20, 2000. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Elmo, Archie and Gerald DeLong, and a sister, Genevieve Sleezer.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas DeLong, and his wife, Judy, Manhattan, James DeLong, and his wife, Nancy, Springfield, MO, and William DeLong, Ozawkie; his daughter, Donna Marie Randall, Eudora; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
