Warren E. Priest, 79, of Whiting, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. He was born August 21, 1928 in Whiting, KS. He was the son of Walton and Myrtle Priest. He graduated from Whiting High School in 1946 and later graduated from Washburn University.
He was a rural mail carrier for 37 years and also worked as a butcher at Priest Store in Whiting and later at C&D Grocery in Whiting. He was an Elder in the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Holton.
Warren married Lola Maxine Schuster on June 1, 1953 in Whiting. She survives. He is survived by a son, Jeff Priest of Whiting; a daughter, Jessie Dawson of Lawrence, KS; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mr. Priest was cremated. Inurnment will be at Springhill Cemetery in Whiting at a later date.
