Warren Hardy "Pikitchwano" Eteeyan

Warren Hardy “Pikitchwano” Eteeyan, 75, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Thursday September 10, 2026 in Topeka, KS. He was born October 9, 1950 in Claremore, OK, the son of Elizabeth Eteeyan Harness.

Hardy graduated from Topeka Police Academy in 1993. He worked as a Deputy for Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and later for Tribal Police. He worked for over 20 years for Prairie Band Road and Bridge.

He was a proud member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and enjoyed researching and teaching about his tribe. He was an Honorary Spiritual Leader for We-Ta-Se Post 410 and founder of Soldier Creek Shooters Club. Hardy was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, talented artist, friend to many and always ready to help when needed.

He married Helen Poteete they later divorced. He married Rubina Stockebrand they later divorced.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Donita “Doni” Deal-Carter of Nowata, OK and Eva Eteeyan of Topeka, KS; son, Scott Eteeyan of Mayetta, KS; 3 sisters, Mary LeClere and Donita LeClere both of Mayetta, KS and Rosemary Eteeyan; brother, John LeClere of Mayetta, KS; 11 grandchildren, Harrison, Heather, Mosin, Montana, Vernon, Austin, Henry, Lincoln, Aiden, Lucinda and Mariah; 1 great-granddaughter, Rosalie and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Eteeyan Harness; son, Anthony Eteeyan; sister, Ingrid Eteeyan and 3 brothers, Donald Eteeyan, Jeffrey Harness and Bob Hubbard.

Visitation and viewing will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Wake will be Tuesday evening, September 15, 2026 at the Danceground Building on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Nelson Potts Cemetery.
