Warren James Darst, 64, Ozawkie, died Monday, July 27, 2015, at his home.
He was born June 4, 1951, at Atchison, the son of Warren Junior and Margaret Anne Weeks Darst. He served in the US Navy aboard an aircraft carrier as a radio communications operator.
Warren was a technician for WorldCom Corporation and later Verizon Communications. He was a member of American Legion Bicentennial Post 225 at Ozawkie. He loved being outdoors, fishing and riding ATVs.
He married Nona Amack. They divorced. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald J. Hoffman II; and a nephew, Scott Harper.
Survivors include three sisters, Sandra Fairchild, Patricia (Mark) Stone, all of Valley Falls, and Cheryl Harper, Topeka; two nephews, Joshua Stone and Larry Fairchild; and three nieces, Crystal Tinch, Maggie Stone and Judy Plantz.
Warren had chosen to be cremated with no memorial service.
