Warren D. Boyce, 92, Valley Falls, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1921, near Guthrie, OK, the son of Frank Everett and Jessie Bell Blanchard Boyce. He graduated from Valley Falls High school in 1939, and served in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate Third Class in the Pacific Theatre during WW II.
Warren was a farmer-stockman all of his life. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church at Camp Verde, AZ, and a member of Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Valley Falls.
He married Alma June Gaut, on June 19, 1982, at Joplin, MO. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Donald Boyce, and two sisters, Marie Kenny and Mary List.
Survivors include his wife, June, of the home; a brother, Chester Boyce, Waukomis, OK; a sister-in-law, Jean Boyce, Valley Falls; and many nephews and nieces.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery with military honors conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, V.F.W. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
