Obituary

Waneva Parthine Lutz, 89, of Mayetta died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Medicalodges Jackson County. Waneva was born November 17, 1921 south of Holton. She was the daughter of Albert M. and Edna Czrina Fink Edwards. She graduated from Holton High School in 1939.
Waneva was a member of Potawatomi United Methodist Church. She and her husband farmed for many years west of Mayetta. Waneva also worked at 14th St. Ordnance Plant in Topeka during World War II and Goodyear.
Waneva married Oscar "Bud" Lutz on November 18, 1939 in Lyndon, KS. Bud preceded her in death on July 6, 1991. She was preceded by a son, Jim Lutz in 2007, triplet sons in 1940; sisters, Helen Barton and Ruth Wallisch; brothers, Herbert, Kenneth, Buford and Cecil Edwards.
Waneva is survived by a daughter, Lois and Fred Zeller of Holton, a son, Bruce and Betty Lutz of Mayetta, a daughter-in-law, Beverly Morrissey-Lutz of Lenexa; sisters, Lila Haney and Mary Blackburn both of Topeka; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday. Memorials may be given to Medicalodges Jackson Countyc/o Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
