William Richard Stewart, 69, Valley Falls, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at his home near Valley Falls.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1944, at Tucson, AZ, the son of William H. and Marion Gail Harper Stewart. He graduated from Friendship High School in Lubbock, TX, and received both a B.S degree and a Masters in Statistics from Kansas State University.
Bill worked as a statistician and consultant and owned his own business.
He married Rosalie Behnke on Oct. 5, 1990, at Covington, KY. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Stewart-Carnerio.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie, of the home; two daughters, Cynthia Stewart, Hays, and Christine Stewart, Washington; a sister, Janice Hooper-Stewart, Austin, TX and five grandsons.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
