Virginia L. Salts, 87, of Holton formerly of Mayetta died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her home. Virginia was born December 17, 1922 in Holton. She was the daughter of Frank and Blanche Hinman Decker. She graduated from Denison High School in 1940 and attended business school in Kansas City.
Virginia was a secretary for the Denison and Bonner Springs Schools. She was a member of Mayetta United Methodist Church. She was a former organist for churches in Denison and Bonner Springs. She was a 60 year member of Order of the Eastern Star and the Treasurer for the Denison Historical Society.
Virginia married Vergil Edgar Salts on January 1, 1947 in Denison. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2000. She is survived by her children, Gary V. Salts of Holton, Pamela Salts and her husband, John Partridge of Ottawa, KS and Debra Salts of Wichita; her sister, Betty Moser of Holton; grandchildren, Yolanda Curtin and G.V. Salts and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday July 12, 2010 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Mayetta Cemetery.
