HOLTON- Virginia Lee Patterson, 63, of Aurora, CO, formerly of Holton, KS, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at her home. She was born July 15, 1943 in Onaga, KS, the daughter of Paul Deveer and Gertrude Lila Wege Swain.
Virginia graduated from Holton High School in 1961 and had worked at Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton. She had lived in Colorado since 1976 and was a member of St. Pious X Catholic Church in Aurora. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and day care provider.
She was married to Gary J. Patterson on November 22, 1967 in Miami, OK. Gary passed away on November 19, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Anita and two brothers, Preston and Ray. Survivors include 2 daughters, Shawn Reed and her husband, Bill, Shannon Patterson and a granddaughter, Lyndsee Reed all of Aurora, CO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2006 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta. Burial will be in Mayetta Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening followed by visitation at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Online condolences are available at www.mercerfuneralhomes.com
