VIRGINIA D KEEN
Virginia D. Keen, 87, Willits, CA, formerly of Topeka, died Sunday, December 24, 2006, at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital at Santa Rosa, CA.
Mrs. Keen was a foster grandparent at the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka for 25 years. She had lived at Willits, CA since 2003.
She was born Oct. 25, 1919, at Ottawa, the daughter of William "Harry" and Florence Gaddis Bruce. She graduated from Ottawa High school in 1938. She married Edwin Lyman Keen on Oct. 15, 1945, at Lawrence. Mr. Keen was the voice of Uncle Ezra Hawkins on WIBW Radio for many years. He died on June 21, 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia E. Rose and her husband Ed, Willits, CA, and Edwina Ditmore, Topeka; six grandchildren, Debra Castle, Reseda, CA, Kim Presswood and Dusty Bluthardt, Fort Bragg, CA and Rebecca, Jessica and Michelle Ditmore, Topeka, and five great grandchildren, Jason, Asleigh and Cameron Castle, Reseda, CA, and Caleb Camfield and Ryan Presswood, Ft. Bragg, CA
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2006,
at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is
