HOLTON- Vickie W. Christie Thomas, 59, of Holton, KS passed away July 28, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born May 22, 1951 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Harriet Winifred Todd Christie.
She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1969 and Highland Community College in 1971. She worked for the State of Kansas in the motor carrier division and for facility management and retired in 2008 after 30 years. After retirement she worked as park attendant at Banner Creek Reservoir. She was a former member of F.O.E. and Eagles Lodge both in Holton.
Vickie married Bill Thomas on September 10, 1986 in Reno, NV. He survives. Other survivors include a sister, Beverly Hutson of Bolckow, MO; a brother James Christie of Walnut Creek, CA and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
