Twen Renee Barton, 62, of Mayetta, KS passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at her home. She was born December 29, 1963 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Joanie Abney Rebar.
Twen graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1982. She had worked as a bus driver for Bonner Springs school district and as a lunch lady for Tonganoxie Junior High School. Twen later served on the Gaming Commission and as Tribal Chairperson for the Sac & Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska. She had also worked for Home Depot. She was of the Christian and Spiritual faith.
Twen has always been fashion forward, from her clothing to her vibrant purple hair. She started to rock once the greys started coming in.
She was married to Harold Ray Barton November 19, 1983 in Leavenworth, KS. He survives of the home. Twen is also survived by her daughters; Madea Barton and Shadoe Barton both of Kansas City, MO.
The family will greet friends for a Memorial Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will take place at the Mayetta Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be given to Mercer Funeral Home to help with expenses and sent to P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
