Trudy D. Bammes

Trudy Dawn Bammes, 52, of Horton, KS, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. She was born March 30, 1974 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Billy Wayne and Judith Ann (Meyer) Redmon.

Trudy graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1992 and later earned her Certified Nurses Aide. She worked for Frito Lay and Kaw Valley Bank in Topeka, KS, Cherokee Lodge and served as Oskaloosa City Clerk.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and family, playing and coaching softball, Pool League and Bingo with her family. She was a lifelong Cowgirl and loved riding her horses.

Trudy married Charles R. Frakes, they later divorced. She married Jared E. Bammes, they later separated.

Survivors include her father, Billy W. Redmon of Valley Falls, KS; 4 children, Anna M. Smith (Spencer) of Valley Falls, KS, Billy R. Frakes (Max) of Lenexa, KS, Dusty E. Bammes (Kendra) of Lawrence, KS and Alexander D. Bammes (Carlee) of Lawrence, KS; sister, Tricia Redmon (Lee Noll) of Nortonville, KS; 2 grandchildren and companion, Mike Rizzo of Horton, KS.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith A. Redmon; her son, Jacob E. Bammes; grandchild, Aspen and an Infant Baby.

Graveside Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Delia Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Valley Falls Ball Assoc. c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
