Troy G. Collins, 79, of Mayetta passed away February 23, 2011 at Medicalodge in Holton. He was born August 31, 1931 in Tunas, Missouri the son of Lester and Eursie (Wheeler) Collins.
Troy worked in boiler maintenance at Santa Fe (Memorial) Hospital for 30 years before his retirement. In his retirement he enjoyed scraping iron and auctions. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Troy married Shirley Ann Springer. The couple later divorced. Survivors include: his sons, Gerald B. (Kathy) Collins of Lyons, KS, Otis D. Collins of Halfway, MO, Troy L. (Karol) Collins of Salina, KS and Basil A. Collins of Stockton, MO; his daughters, Neice Munoz and Teresa Collins both of Springfield, MO; sisters, Orzella Ward and Frances Barnett both of Missouri; brothers, Buddy, Danny, Bobby and Virgil Collins all of Missouri; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nina Collins.
Mr. Collins has been cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Jackson County Friends of Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
