Timothy A. Rose, 60, of Topeka died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at a Topeka nursing home. He was born September 15, 1949 in Holton, the son of Franklin H. and Caroline A. Gallelli Rose, Sr. He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1968. He lived in Hoyt most of his life, but spent his later years in Topeka. Tim worked for Goodyear Tire Stores and Rose Muffler in Manhattan.
He was a member of Brookwood Covenant Church in Topeka. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #17 A.F. & A.M., the Arab Shrine Temple, and American Legion Capital Post #1. Tim umpired ASA fast pitch softball and volunteered for the YMCA Downtown Branch in Topeka.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Tamra Smith and her husband, Darrel and their sons, Brandon and Conner Meeks of Berryton, KS; brothers, Frank Rose Jr. of Independence, MO and James Rose of Manhattan; sisters; Caroline Keyser of Maple Hill, Kathleen Rose of Poplarville, MS, Susan Moultan of Wentzville, MO and Margaret "Marge" Frederick of Topeka; and his companion Mary Estenson of Topeka.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Hoyt Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
