Theodore Lynn "Ted" VanDonge, 54, of Holton, KS, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Holton Community Hospital, as the result of a fall. He was born July 1, 1969 in Ft. Carson, CO, the son of Larry and Linda (Holliday) VanDonge.

Ted graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1987 and earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology at Emporia State University. He was a Chief Court Service Officer for the 2nd Judicial District in Holton, KS.

He was a member of Soldier Christian Church, K16 Quail Forever and was an instructor for Hunters Education for the State of Kansas.

Ted married Melissa Watts on June 18, 1994 in White Cloud, KS. They celebrated over 29 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa of the home; his parents, Larry and Linda VanDonge of Soldier, KS; 2 daughters, Rilee Steinlage (Marcus) of McLouth, KS and Kortnee Van Nest (Torin) of Manhattan, KS; 3 brothers, Tim VanDonge (Kristan) of Salina, KS, Dave VanDonge (Rachel) of Dover, OH and Dan VanDonge (Angie) of Basehor, KS; grandson, Max Steinlage; father and mother in-laws, Jim and Jackie Watts of Highland, KS and Donna and Joe Commins of Holton, KS and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at a later date at the Soldier Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
