Obituary

Tanya Kay Salts, 76, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was born April 22, 1948 in San Matao, CA, the daughter of Charles Edward, Sr. and Betty Louise (Watson) Bratton.

Tanya graduated from Mayetta High School in 1966 and attended Washburn University and Clark's School of Business. She worked for Westar Energy (now Evergy), retiring after 35 years as a Senior Budget Analyst.

She was a member of the Holton Country Club and Apache Wells Country Club in Mesa, AZ. Tanya enjoyed golfing and cheering on her grandchildren at their activities.

Tanya married Edgar "Dale" Salts on March 20, 1971 in Holton, KS; they celebrated over 53 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Dale of the home; 2 daughters, Amy Campbell (Doug) of Bonner Springs, KS and Kristi Sherer (Kelby) of Basehor, KS; 2 sisters, Bernie Mueller (L.T. Thomas) of Iowa City, IA and Carolyn Hampton of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Charles Edward Bratton, Jr. (Kriscel) of Dunn, NC; 4 grandchildren, Caden Campbell, Case Campbell, Ella Sherer and Zoie Sherer, and a step-mother, Sarah Bratton of Topeka, KS;

She was preceded by her parents, Charles and Betty Bratton and infant daughter, Kimberly Kay Salts.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Mayetta Cemetery. Family will greet friends 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorial may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
