Sueko "Sue" Sumino McDaniel, 77, of Goff, died November 22, 2010 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Sue was born March 29, 1933 in Kobe, Japan. She graduated from high school in Japan in 1948 and attended KoKusai Dressmaking also in Japan.
On April 16, 1963 she married John McDaniel in Japan. The couple owned and operated Goff White Barn for many years. She was a cook at Kids Express in Holton, a cook for Sabetha/ Wetmore schools and also worked as a seamstress for Horton Garment Co. She was currently employed with Sac & Fox Casino as a cook since 2001; in 2006 she received an award for perfect attendance.
John preceded Sue in death on October 11, 1992. Sue and John were not blessed with children but she is survived by two sister-in-laws, Barbara Baugh of Arizona and Brenda Mee of Seneca, KS; a brother-in-law, Kenneth "Toby" McDaniel of Lodi, CA; nieces, nephews and several friends with whom she shared many great stories of her life.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday November 26, 2010 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with Pastor Seong Lee officiating. Interment will be in Wetmore Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services. Memorials are suggested to the Sue McDaniel Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
