Steven Wayne Reichart, 49, Holton, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, as a result of injuries from a farm accident near his home.
He was born on July 9, 1959, at Winchester, the son of Harold Lloyd and Brenda Delfelder Reichart. He graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1977.
Steve was a dairyman and farmer in partnership with his family north of Valley Falls. He was a member of Coal Creek United Methodist Church.
He married Jackie Sheeley on July 31, 1982, at Effingham. She survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Austan Steven Reichart; a sister, Norma Jean Reichart; his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Sheeley and grandparents, Charles and Mary Reichart, Leslie Delfelder, and Melvin and Beulah Donovan.
Survivors include two sons, Nicholas Charles Reichart and his friend, Emily Winn, Wichita, and Quentan Michael Reichart, of the home; two daughters, Crystal Lyn (Kyle) Schlodder, Holton, and Courtnay Lauren Reichart, and her friend Joe Crawford, Wichita; a brother, Gale (Shana) Reichart, Valley Falls; three sisters, Terri (Dan) Sheeley, Effingham, Chris Maddox, Houston, MO, and Janet (Todd) Postier, Derby; two grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Abigail Schlodder, both of Holton; his parents, Lloyd and Brenda Reichart, Valley Falls, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at St. Ann's Catholic Church at Effingham. Burial will be at the Coal Creek Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be at 6:30 p.m., Monday, followed by a visitation, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
