STEVEN EUGENE "BUFF" DARVEAUX
Steven Eugene "Buff" Darveaux, 44, Darveaux, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, as a result of a construction accident at Manhattan.
He was born July 28, 1962, at Falls City, NE, the son of Norbert Joseph and Loretta Roxane Kirkendall Darveaux. He moved to Valley Falls in 1965 and graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1980.
He was a welder and worked for Haynes Construction in Meriden. He had also worked for Ernest-Spencer Metals in Meriden, the Alamo Group in Holton and K-Mart in Topeka. He was a member of American Legion Post 255 at Ozawkie.
He married Sharon E. Boyce on July 4, 1981. They were divorced. He married Melissa F. Vaughn on Aug. 1, 1987. They were divorced. He married Linda Hubbard on Oct. 4, 2004. They were later divorced.
Survivors include two sons, Levi Wade Darveaux and Tanner Reed Darveaux, both of Valley Falls; a daughter, Lacey Lynn Thompson and her husband, Benjamin, Valley Falls; his father, Norbert Darveaux, and his wife Barbara, Valley Falls; his mother, Roxane Darveaux, Valley Falls; two sisters, Ronda Jeffries, and her husband, Richard, and Melody Ann Conser, and her husband, Colt, all of Valley Falls; two granddaughters and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2007, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. The casket will be closed.
