Shirley Ann Smith, 68, of Holton, KS, formerly of Soldier and Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born February 17, 1955 in Topeka, KS. Shirley was raised and loved by her foster parents, Robert and Norma Britton.

Shirley graduated from Highland Park High School in 1975. She was a dishwasher and housekeeper.

Shirley is survived by her guardian, Elaine Stephenson of Circleville, KS.

She was preceded in death by her foster father, Robert Britton on October 5, 2010; her adoptive mother, Norma Britton on October 16, 2020 and foster sister, Julie Hyten on August 18, 2018.

Memorial Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Soldier Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Soldier Christian Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
