Shirlene Fawn "Sogmahquah" Seymour, 61, of Winnebago, NE, passed away August 21, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, IA. She was born August 23, 1959 in Holton, KS, the daughter of Melvin Twin and Alberta Marie Nagmo.

Shirlene graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1977. She earned her Associates Degree at Washburn University in counseling. Shirlene worked for the Drug Dependency Unit at Indian Health Service in Winnebago, NE as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She loved working with Indian people and she helped many with their struggles in addiction.  She enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes), working out, and being with all her grandchildren.

She was a member of Drum Religion and Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

Survivors include her 3 children, Carolyn Seymour(Justin Lasley) and Andrea F. Alvarado(Daniel Kemp) both of Winnebago, NE and Shamoga Seymour( Leraine Biggoose) of Lawrence, KS; her adopted mother, Judy Wabaunsee; 3 sisters, Jackie Mitchell, Lisa Wamego and Edie Wamego all of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation; 6 brothers, Eddie Joe Mitchell, Randy Mitchell, John LeClere, Mando Evans and Lavern Hale all of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation and Leo Mitchell of Valley Falls, KS; 8 grandchildren: MweKwe, KiWenKe, Sineyah, Wanopahzi, Shipshee, WebTeTek, Charli, and Winter are her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Twin and Alberta Marie Nagmo Wamego; a sister, Sandra Mitchell and 4 brothers, Gary, Larry and Andrew Mitchell and Mike Wamego.

Private Family Supper and Wake will be Monday Evening, August 23, 2021 at the Danceground Building on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Takako Cemetery (near 150 ^th , west of K rd.)
