Shea Hunter Deegan, 27, of Denison, KS passed away on June 1, 2026 at his home. He was born September 22, 1998 in Grand Forks, ND to Shaun Alan Deegan and Tara Abigail Werner.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Tara Werner (Jeff Coleman) of Denison, KS., father, Shaun Deegan (Suzanne) of Milford, KS, a sister, Hannah Reed (Trenton) of Soldier, KS., a brother, Ethan Deegan of Claremore, OK., and two step-brothers, Micale Manganiello (Brooke) of Wichita, KS., and Brandon Nech (Cassie) of Lawrence, KS. He is also survived by two grandparents, Mona Werner of Claremore, OK., and Alan Deegan of Milford, KS. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Shea is preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry W. Werner, and his grandmother, Ellen L. Deegan, along with many great-grandparents, cousins, and great-aunts and uncles.

Shea was an inherently good person with a pure soul and a heart of gold. He had a way of always taking the longer, much more complicated route through life, but always remained kind, caring and loving through it all. He also had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He loved to “trick” his siblings with presents. For example, Hannah loves books (Harry Potter, specifically) and Ethan collects swords (Lord of the Rings.) For Christmas one year, he decided to get Hannah a Harry Potter sword, and Ethan the Lord of the Rings books. He was very proud of these gifts because he thought the mix around was hilarious!

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, and playing with his two beloved dogs, Artie and Sadie. He loved his family (and his dogs) wholeheartedly. He believed in God, and had his very own unique relationship with Jesus. He is gone from this world too soon, but we know we will see him again. As he once said about losing the family dog, “My heart is full of tears.” which is the perfect way to describe those who mourn him. He was so, so loved.

“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” - Titus 3:4-7
