Shawn Paul Leach

Shawn Paul Leach, 56, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Holton, Kansas, passed away on February 20, 2026.

He was born on August 10, 1969, to Hershell and Hazel “Marie” (Antill) Leach.

Shawn attended school at Holton.

Shawn had the biggest heart and just a touch of ornery spirit that made him uniquely himself. He loved deeply and gave his love freely and often to everyone around him. His greatest joys in life were his family, animals and watching the Chiefs. He also had a love for superheroes and fast cars. His kind nature, gentle soul, and loyal heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his sister, Gail Taliaferro of Holton, Kansas; three brothers, Francis (Kathy) Mick of Derby, Kansas, Keith (Kathy) Mick of Horton, Kansas, and Rowdy (Marsha) Mick of Fairview, Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Marie Leach; his infant sister, Ruth Elizabeth Mick; and his brother, Dennis Mick.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Circleville Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to Special Olympics, c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
