Sharon Sue Shobney

Sharon Sue Shobney, 78, of Hoyt, KS, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at her home with family by her side. She was born July 16, 1947 in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Albert M. and Lillian Ruth (Humphrey) Dicks.

Sharon graduated from Topeka High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in social work from Washburn University. She worked many years for the State of Kansas in the Department of Children and Family Services.

She married Jerry Denzler, Sr.; they later divorced.

She married Michael J. Shobney on August 3, 1996 in Delia, KS; he preceded her in death on January 21, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents and son, Derek D. Denzler.

Survivors include her son, Jerry L. Denzler, Jr. of Hoyt, KS; daughter, Heather S. Nicholas (Cris) of Mayetta, KS and grandson, Teryn Denzler.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, KS. Cards of Condolence for the family may be sent to Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
