SCHLOSSMAN
TOPEKA-The Lord Jesus granted Sharon Lynn Schlossman her eternal reward in glory on October 5, 2008.
She was born Sharon Lynn Higgins on January 15, 1948 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Francis and Dorothy Span Higgins. Sharon graduated from Maria High School in 1966, attended Daley Junior College both of Chicago, IL and attended Highland Community College. She married Martin L. Schlossman, Sr. on July 2, 1966 in Chicago, IL.
Sharon was a homemaker, a church secretary at several Lutheran Churches, a teacher at Hope Lutheran Preschool; she worked for the Red Cross from 1979 – 1981 in St. Louis, MO, Chicago Tourism and Convention Bureau from 1996-1999. She was actively involved in Lutheran congregations as she supported her husband in pastoral ministry.
She was a member of Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School superintendent.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Martin L. Schlossman, Sr., of the home. They were blessed with three children. Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Sampson and her husband, Dennis of Topeka, KS; Heather Wallisch and her husband, John of Denison, KS; a son, Martin Schlossman, Jr. and his wife, Jolene of Topeka, KS; and eight grandchildren, Rachel, Grace, Aaron, Tara, Hope, Matthew, Megan and Macy. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Martin L. Schlossman III on September 7, 1997.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2104 Bob Billings Pkwy, Lawrence, KS. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Holton Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS.
