Sharon Lee Barrow, 64, passed away Wednesday March 21, 2012 in Holton. She was born August 4, 1947, in Holton, the daughter of Vernon and Lou Emma (Gilliland) Barrow.

Sharon graduated from Denison High School in 1965 and later graduated from Washburn University with a BA in criminal justice. She had worked as a cottage parent at the Center for the Blind. She was a Corrections Officer for the State of Kansas for eleven years and retired as a Sergeant.

Sharon was a member of the Red Hat Society, a life member of Phi Uplison Omricron and a member of Lakeview Faith Chapel. She was a 4-H state winner in 1965 for food preservation and volunteered at Fresh Start, since 1998, with her sister Dee.

She is survived by her sister, Dee Barrow of Holton; her brothers, Ray Barrow of Holton, Bill Barrow and Dan Barrow both of Denison and Leo Barrow of Holton; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Vernon Barrow in 2007.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday March 26, 2012 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends Sunday from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
