Testimonials from those that knew him best in the last years…

Sean is loved by many people and will be forever missed.  My heart breaks that this world lost such an amazing and Kindhearted soul.

Sean is a warmhearted man, always saying, "He was a young soul trapped in an old body." He took joy in learning about self-efficiency, gardening in hydroponics and in-ground greenhouses. He enjoyed talking about, "How the world could benefit from ridding the world of paper and plastics, using hemp as a renewable resource." Sean's favorite thing to do was playing Xbox while watching YouTube. He took pride in his Family on Xbox known as Boogie. Playing Xbox helped Sean stay young and connected to the world. Sean would always crack jokes and tried to keep everyone lighthearted. Lots of times when you heard Sean, you would hear his Kpop playing in the background. Sean did e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g to help his friends and family out, even when he was upset with them at times, that he would give the shirt off his own back regardless. Sean took life with a grain of salt understanding life happens and would be happy to talk to you when life was not so crazy. Sean was disabled but he did not allow that to stop him from enjoying life and being a warm, loving voice everyone leaned onto for strength. Often Sean talked about how he could be closer to family and would say "family is who you make it, not who you were assigned." Sean, as KrustyElf, was, is, and will always be loved by his Boogie family on Xbox. We could learn a lot from such a man, and to that end, our Boogie family will take after his lead.

Sean passed away peacefully at his residence in Lawrence, KS on September 3, 2024.  A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.

Sean's family would like to express appreciation for the work Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center administered for Sean over the last seven years.  We credit the amazing change in Sean's outlook on life with the medical treatment which looked at the whole person and reduced or eliminated medications that made him disagreeable and troubling to interact with.  The change seen in Sean was profound.
