Hiawatha- Scott Kautz, 43, of Hiawatha, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Hiawatha Hospital. He was born January 12, 1966 in Winchester, the son of Elmer E. and Clara "Jean" McConnaughey Kautz.
He graduated from Atchison High School in 1984 and loved music and cartoons.
Scott is survived by 4 sisters, Sharon Pierson (Bob) of Osage City, Connie Cress (Nathan Coffman) of Horton, Donna Foye of Denison, Terri Anderson (Gary) of Horton; 4 brothers, Ron Kautz (Connie) of Whiting, Larry Kautz (Shery) of Mayetta, Tony Kautz (Marla) of Atchison, Kelly Kautz of Atchison; 24 nieces and nephews and 48 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Dean Kautz; and 2 nephews, Patrick Skidmore and Kody Kautz.
Scott was cremated. The family will greet friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, February 6, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Scott Kautz Memorial Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
