HOLTON- Ruth I. Mitschele, 91, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born October 29, 1920 in Piper City, IN the daughter of Walter and Minnie Marie (Peters) Shaw.

Ruth graduated from Linwood High School in 1939. In 1957 she and her husband, James moved to Green County, WI. They rented a farm for 8 years near Albany, WI and later bought a farm near Juda, WI in 1966. They retired in 1979, and relocated to an 80 acre farm west of Holton.

Ruth was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church and Holton Hospital Auxiliary.

She married James W. Mitschele on January 1, 1941 in Holton. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Mitschele, Jr. at birth and an infant baby. She is survived by a son, Steven Mitschele of Holton.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday March 19, 2012 at Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
