Ruth L. Lentz, 84, Valley Falls, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the home of her son, Jerry Lentz.

She was born on May 14, 1929, at Higginsville, MO, the daughter of Maury and Mary Ann Carson Brown Sr.

Ruth had worked as a CNA at Village Villa Care Center in Nortonville for 16 years. Prior to that she had worked at a nursing home in Hiawatha. She was a member of the Coal Creek United Methodist Church and also the You and I Club.

She married Theodore C. Lentz on April 3, 1960, at Mercier, KS. He died on March 2, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Maury Brown, Jr. and Carl Selle, and a sister, Florence Cox.

Survivors include a son Jerry (Annie) Lentz, Valley Falls; a daughter, Cheryl (Mitch) Hawkins, Scranton; a brother, Earl Selle, Horton; and five grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at the Coal Creek United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Coal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
