HOLTON-Ruth Craig, 76, of Holton, KS passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at her home. She was born June 20, 1933 in Wetmore, KS the daughter of Donald L. and Helen M. Meers Bontrager.
Ruth graduated from Holton High School in 1951 and had lived most of her life in the Holton community. She worked with her husband, Spud, at Craig's IGA for over 30 years. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Holton and a member of the Holton V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She married E. Kenneth "Spud" Craig on June 1, 1952 in Holton. He passed away May 12, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bontrager in 2008.
Survivors include a daughter, Terry Craig- Horning of Holton, KS; a sister, Doris Bontrager of Holton, KS; 2 brothers, Calvin Bontrager of Oklahoma City, OK and Harold Bontrager of Sedona, AZ and 2 grandchildren, Craig Kathrens of Belton, MO and Casey Kathrens of Ottawa, KS.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family interment will be in the Holton Cemetery at a later date. Family will greet friends 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
