Russell Douglas Voelker, Jr., 50, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at his home.

He was born April 27, 1965, at Winchester, the son of Russell Douglas and Susan Reynolds Voelker, Sr. He graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1983.

Doug was an over-the-road truck driver for Hollis Truck Line in Valley Falls. He had worked for wheat and silage custom harvesters, Penske Corporation, Road Runner Transportation and Koch Trucking. Doug farmed with his parents east of Valley Falls.

He was a member of Valley Victors 4-H Club in his youth and supported the club in recent years.

Survivors include his companion, Michelle Eisermann, step-daughter, Lacey Eisermann, son, Dalton Voelker, and daughter, Sarah Voelker, all of the home; his parents Russ and Susan Voelker, Valley Falls; brother, Chad Voelker, Valley Falls; and sister, Lynda Gilmer (Randy Pickens), and her children, Shalae and Chase, all of Florence, AL.

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Maxine Voelker, and David and Agnes Reynolds, and several aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, east of Valley Falls. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday.
