Russell R. Voegtlin, 68, of Hiawatha, formerly of Horton passed away August 5, 2013 in Hiawatha.
He was born October 31, 1944 in St. Louis, MO the son of Reinhart and Grace (Strader) Voegtlin. Russell was a handyman, manager at a Mobile Station in California, worked at Terrible Herbs in Vegas and was a woodworker and painter. He had also worked in maintenance at Sac & Fox Casino. He belonged to the Elks Lodge in California. Russell proudly served his country with the United States Army. In 2005 he married Karen Dee Dawley in Mohave, AZ. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: his step-daughters, April A. Thiel and Corina Jundt both of Kingman, KS; his sister, Delores Lewis of St. Louis, MO; his brothers, Ralph, Charles and Bud Voegtlin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters, six brothers and a granddaughter, Farrah Brown.
Russell requested to be cremated and a Celebration of his life will be held beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 10th, 2013 at Russell and Karen's home (431 1st Ave. East in Horton, Kansas.)
