Ruby Elizabeth Bentley Behrends, 91, of Burlington, KS, formerly of Holton, KS, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Life Care Center of Burlington. She was born January 17, 1930 in Hazlehurst, MS, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Chancellor) Brent.

Ruby was a waitress for Willy's Café, Sharp's Diner and Hamburger Inn all of Holton. She also was a waitress for Topeka Truck Plaza, Beto Junction and Burlington Craft Barn.

She married Clarence Bentley in 1946 at Berkley, CA; he preceded her in death in April of 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Brent; 2 sisters, Emily Rogers and Ramona Powers; 2 brothers, William and Marvin Brent; and 3 sons-in-law, Rex Hamlin, Raul Galan and Joe Geimer.

Survivors include 7 daughters, Ruby Trapletti (Terry) of Torrance, CA, JoAnn Turner (Danny) of Burlington, KS, Shirley Pennington of Holton, KS, Linda Aubry of Wichita, KS, Marilyn Bentley of Burlington, KS, Joyce Galan of Wichita, KS and Debbie Hamlin of Holton, KS; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and niece, Peggie Zirger of Topeka, KS.

Family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Burial will follow to the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holton Fire Department c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
