Rose Arlene Roth, 88, Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1925, at Olsburg, the daughter of Frank Oscar and Mabel Holm Hanson. She graduated from Garrison High School. She taught rural school at Carnahan Creek and Randolph, and at Highland Park in Topeka.
Rose was a homemaker. She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. She married Elmer L. Roth on Dec. 24, 1950, at Garrison. He died on Aug. 13, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jane L. Roth, on Nov. 17, 1988 ; a brother, Kenneth Hanson; and two sisters, Pearl Hanson, who died in infancy, and Doris McCardle.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy L. Devlin (Bret Miller), Overland Park, and Joan L. Schoonover, Topeka; a brother, Eldon Hanson, Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
