Rollie Henry Hester Jr, 86, Dallas, TX, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, in Dallas.
Rollie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a generous, caring man, who will always be missed and never forgotten.
He was born in Kansas City, MO, on Sept. 11, 1930, to Rollie and Alice Van Pelt Hester Sr.
He attended Denison, Kansas Rural High School where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Keen. After graduation the couple were married July 6, 1948, in Holton, KS. Rollie then entered the Marine Corps and they were stationed at Cherry Point, North Carolina.
Rollie worked as a Computer Engineer and Manager at Sears Roebuck, Continental Emsco, and Zales Corporation. After retiring in 1992, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf and spending time with Elizabeth.
Rollie and Elizabeth were married for 69 years. Survivors include, Elizabeth; two sons, Brad and Doug, and their wives, Debbie and Susan; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all in Dallas; and a sister, Carol Mokofsky, Marietta, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmie Hester.
Graveside Memorial Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Valley Falls, Kansas Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
