Topeka- Roger G. Fund, 63, of Topeka, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at a Topeka hospital following a long illness. He was born August 31, 1943 in Sabetha, KS the son of Walter W. and Alice M. Derr Fund. He graduated from Goff High School in 1961. He then served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He had lived in the Topeka area since 1967 and worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for many years until health reasons forced him to retire.
Roger married Anne Podmore of Topeka in 1967, they later divorced. Survivors include his mother, Alice Fund of Goff; a companion, Dorothy Rygielski of Topeka, 2 daughters; Vicki Slusser and her husband, Alan of St. Charles, MO and Amy Fund of Houston, TX; 2 sisters; Carolyn Bell and her husband, Gary of Holton and Mary Fund and her husband, Ed Reznicek of Goff; a brother, Arlie Fund and his wife, Gay of Delia, 2 grandchildren Stephen and Jordan Slusser and his beloved friend, Bo..
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. February 2, 2007 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services and private family inurnment will be in the Barnes Cemetery north of Goff at a later date.
