Robert Lee "Bob" Ray, 72, of Valley Falls, KS passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home. He was born July 7, 1937 in Denison, KS the son of Jesse and Helen Caskey Ray. Bob graduated from Denison High School in 1955 and lived all of his life in the Denison area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He retired from Goodyear after 34 years and later worked for Monument Design in Holton for 14 years setting monuments. Bob was a member of the Denison Bible Church and United Steel Workers Local #307.
Bob married Anita Hubach on July 18, 1965 in Denison. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Lynette Whiting and her husband Scott of Dighton, KS; a sister, Mary Swift of Goff, KS and four grandchildren, Casey, Jesse, Nicki and Lane.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Heston and a brother, William H. Ray.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will be in the Denison Cemetery.
