A Graveside Memorial Service for Robert Lloyd McElroy, 84, Chief Master Sgt. USAF, Ret., will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery at Winchester.
Mr. McElroy died Feb. 28, 2015, at Wichita. He was born Oct. 3, 1930, at Quinter, KS, the son of Lloyd and Ella Lorena Graham McElroy.
He was a tail-gunner on B-29s during the Korean War and later was a mid-air refueling specialist on KC-97 and KC-135 transport planes. He served as an elder at the Park City Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne O'Neill McElroy, of the home; two sons Thomas Lloyd (Dianne), Columbia, MD and Robert Joseph (Debra), Wichita, KS; grandchildren Bria (Matthew) Barry, Lindsey McElroy, Sean (Shannon) McElroy, Jessica (Andrew) Curtis, Emily (Robert) Hetherington, Allison McElroy; great grandchildren Lenah McElroy (Sean) and one step-great grandchild Braylon Mink (Sean); a sister Marjorie Cox of Topeka, KS and brother Lynn (Linda) McElroy of Georgetown, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
