DENISON- Robert K. "Bob" Robison, 78, of Denison passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born January 22, 1933 in Holton, the son of John C. and Josie L. (Price) Robison.
Bob attended Carbon Grade School near Larkinburg and graduated from Holton High School in 1950. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 5 years from 1952 – 1957; during the Korean War. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Bob was a Journeyman Plasterer and had worked for many years for Florence & Co. in Topeka and he was also a farmer and stockman.
He attended the Larkinburg Christian Church. He was also a member of the Holton VFW #1367, a charter member of the NE Kansas Shetland Pony Club (which he served as an officer for many years) and a former member of the Plasterers Union Local #44.
Bob married Mary M. Herring on March 11, 1951 in Rock Creek, KS. She survives. They had just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this year.
Other survivors include a daughter, Judy R. Boyles (J.D.) of Hoyt; a son-in-law, Warren Miller of Holdrege, NE; 2 sisters, Mary Meier of Topeka and Neva Heiselman of Holton; 4 grandchildren, Jodi Brandt (Jason), Joshua Miller (Lori), J.R. Boyles and Jessica Booe (Chad) and 6 great grandchildren, Peyton, Jayden, Easton, Zeigh, Griffin and Clete.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nelda Miller in 2003; a sister, Mildred Brown and 3 brothers, Glenn, Wilbur and Kenneth Robison.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in the Denison Cemetery with full military honors presented by The Holton VFW.
