Robert Stous, Jr., 97, of Holton, KS passed away October 15, 2013 at his home. He was born August 17, 1916 in Holton, the son of Robert, Sr. and Leona (McComas) Stous.

Bob graduated from Holton High School in 1934. He was a farmer and stockman. Bob was a long-time member of the Evangel United Methodist Church, but currently a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Volunteer Sunday School Class, served on the Jackson Farmers Board of Directors. He also served on the Jackson County Planning Commission and drove school buses for USD 336.

Robert married Bertha N. Smith on March 5, 1939 in Holton. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2003.

Survivors include 2 sons, Dean Stous (Karen A.) and Gary L. Stous (Karen E.) both of Holton; a sister, Betty Fisher of Wichita; 5 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holton Community Hospital Cardiac Care or either EUM or First United Methodist Church Youth Groups c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
