Robert Dean Johnson, 68, passed way with his family around him on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at his home in Valley Falls.
He was born on May 19, 1941, at Goff, the son of Lawrence and Margaret Hittle Johnson. He served in the US Army.
Bob worked at Foley Service and Steinmetz Service, and the Valley Falls Vindicator, all in Valley Falls. He had also worked at the Meriden Farmers Cooperative and at Cargill Elevator in Topeka. He was a member of American Legion Bicentennial Post 225 at Ozawkie and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10815 at Meriden.
He married O'Rita Lay Paige. They later divorced. He married Elizabeth Eisermann. They divorced. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Johnson on Dec. 14, 1971, a brother, Raymond Eugene Johnson, and two sisters, Clara Mae Johnson and Myrtle Irene Jacobson
Survivors include a son, Brian Johnson, Topeka; three daughters, Shelly Johnson, Michelle Eisermann and Dawn Johnson, all of Valley Falls; five brothers, John Rowlan, Waka, TX, Sam Greenlee, TN, William Greenlee, Marysville, KS, Lee Greenlee, MO, Hollis Greenlee, AR; five sisters, Regina Perrine, Shelton, WA, Hazel Miles, Arlington, WA, Mary Love, Garden City, Violet Kiley, Sacramento, CA, Norma Setter, Erie, CO; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.,m., Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery with military honors conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
