Holton- Robert "Bob" Alec Hunter, 87, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, passed away Sunday September 5, 2010 at Plaza West Care Home in Topeka.
He was born on September 5, 1923 in Kansas City, KS the son of Alec and Ellen Burke Hunter. He graduated from Holton High School and later served in the United States Army during WWII.
He was a salesman in the automotive business. Bob worked with Boy Scouts for several years; he was president of Neighborhood Watch and a member of the Topeka Post Office Advisory Committee.
On July 16, 1944, he married Helen Tudor in Holton. She preceded him in death on August 15, 2008.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ann McBride and her husband Jerry of Topeka, KS; two sons, Steven Robert Hunter and his wife Karen of Centerville, VA and Michael Joe Hunter of Topeka, KS; a brother, William Hunter of Kansas City, KS; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Topeka. Burial with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Holton Cemetery.
