HOLLOWAY
HOLTON, KS – Robert G. Holloway, 75, of Holton, formerly of Illinois, died Tuesday, August 07, 2007 at his home. He was born February 24, 1932 in Alameda, CA, the son of Clifford Lester and Dorothy White Holloway.
Robert graduated from Freemont High School in Oakland, CA in 1949. He earned his B.A. and MS degrees from the University of Oregon and from Michigan State University with a Ph.D. in 1962. He taught at the University of California (Berkley) and at The Industrial Relations Center at the University of Chicago. He founded and was CEO of Holloway Health Management Group, a nationwide consulting firm specializing in hospitals for many years.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict and earned the rank of Captain in USAF (Res. Ret.). He also served as a full time consultant for NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C. for two years. He was active in his church, Hinckley First United Methodist in Hinckley, IL and served as chairman of the building committee for 5 years.
He was married to Deborah Percell in 1982. They were later divorced. He married Ila Carol Johnston Prine on February 17, 1996 in Kohler, WI. They were best friends and she survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Bob Holloway (USN) of Mattoon, IL, his daughter, Elizabeth Prine and her husband, Adam of West Des Moines, IA, his step-daughter, Alizbeth Prine Craft and her husband, Tim and his granddaughter, Lyllian Craft, all of Holton, KS and his beloved cousin, Len Lonnigan of Falls City, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Dorothy Holloway, and his brother, Donald Holloway.
Cremation is planned and Memorial Services will be held at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton at a date yet to be determined. Memorials may be given to the Hinckley U.M.C. Building Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
