Mr. Robert Dale Coffey, a longtime resident of Prescott Az. Died Saturday 4/13/19 around 1 P.M. at his residence, at AltaVista retirement community. Mr. Coffey was born to the late James Gabriel Coffey and Lena Rose (Higgins) Coffey in Leavenworth, Kansas.
He served in the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War as an Operating room technician. He attended and graduated from Holton High School, he attended the University of Miami where he received his Bachelor Degree. He went to Emporia Teacher College where he received his teaching Degree. He then attended A.S.U. where he received his master's degree in Art History. He taught at Morenci, Az and Thatcher Jr. College, going on to teach Art History for ASU.
He is survived by Bill Swift, long- time friend and business partner they enjoyed travelling the world buying and selling antiques. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Helene Brockelman, his niece Barbara Jean Craig, Claymore, Ok, Patty Fussell, Michele Jetton, Peggy Cochran all of Florida, Betty Andersen of South Carolina, and Gary Swift of Fulton, Kentucky.
Mr. Coffey was co-owner of Red Lamp Antiques of Prescott, and Red Lamp mobile home park in Thatcher AZ. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mr. Coffey will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the America City Cemetery in America City, Kansas next to his parents, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is assisting with arrangements.
