Obituary

Rickey Leroy Cochran, 58, of Wetmore, KS passed away May 3, 2015 at this home. He was born August 9, 1956 in Wichita, the son of Jerry Duane Cochran and Doris "Jean" (O'Neal) Webster.

Rickey graduated from Jackson Heights High School and proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He had worked for Hi-Tech Construction in Lawrence installing dry wall.


Rickey married Diane Nott, they later divorced. His companion for many years was Nancy Martin.

Survivors include his mother, Jean Webster of Topeka, KS; a step-father, William E. Webster of Whiting; 2 sons, Dakota "Cody" Cochran of Topeka, KS and Logan Cochran of De Soto, KS; a daughter, Laine Cochran of De Soto, KS; 4 sisters, Candice S. Schmitt (Douglas) of Horton, KS, Sandra L. Martin (Darrell) of Netawaka, KS, Rhonda R. Toth of Horton, KS and Thresa J. Bontrager (Russell) of Netawaka; 2 brothers, J.D. Cochran (Rebecca) of Altamont, IL and William D. Webster (Elizabeth) of Topeka, KS; 7 grandchildren and his companion, Nancy Martin of Topeka, KS.


He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cochran in 2000.


Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Memorials may be given to the Rickey Cochran Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
